Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust brings joy and creativity to paediatric oncology patients at King’s College Hospital
In August, The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust delivered a much-needed dose of joy and creativity to children undergoing treatment at the Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit at King’s College Hospital, London. The unit was filled with smiles and laughter as young patients eagerly participated in fun and engaging activities, brightening their days during treatment.
The thoughtfully chosen gifts, including arts and crafts supplies, and toys were warmly received by Jacqui Kerr, the Paediatric Oncology Support Worker on the Unit at King’s. These creative outlets provide a welcome distraction, offering children the chance to express themselves and momentarily escape the challenges of their treatment.
The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust regularly replenishes arts and crafts materials, treasure chest toys, and gifts, for young patients including teens, across all the paediatric oncology wards it supports as it makes a profound difference, helping to bring smiles and comfort to children and teens navigating an incredibly difficult time in their young lives.
