Halfway to bringing cancer care close to home

Real progress is being made with the recently launched High-Acuity Observation Monitor Appeal for the Tiger Ward, Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Tiger Ward  is a vital local service, helping children with cancer receive treatment closer to home and the ward is entering an important new phase. We have been proudly supporting them for over a decade to help fund equipment, staff training, ward improvements, and family support.

With newly awarded Enhanced Level A status, the team can expand to care for more children locally. At the heart of this is a new infusional chemotherapy suite, which will allow children to receive treatment and return home the same day, reducing disruption and easing pressure on families. The new suite isn’t just about clinical care, it will include space for play and creativity, comfortable seating for parents, and quieter areas for rest, an environment that supports children of all ages. As part of this expansion, the ward needs four specialist monitoring units, essential to safely deliver treatment and ensure children are closely observed throughout.

With support already coming in from community donors and grant foundations, TWO of the four monitors are now funded.

We are also raising funds for remaining two monitors needed through exciting events, including our upcoming Charity Opera Night at Shampan Westerham on Tuesday 19th May 2026. Click HERE for more details.
