THE CHARTWELL CHARITIES NEWS

Making waves at Bewl Water Dragon Boat Festival, raising £8,000 for cancer support

The Dragon Boat Festival at Bewl Water is an exhilarating and highly anticipated fundraiser, brimming with excitement and fun! Teams of up to 16 rowers, led by their determined captains, power across the water in traditional canoe-style boats. The competition is fierce, with every synchronised stroke bringing them closer to the ultimate goal – securing a spot in the final and claiming the coveted trophy!

Chartwell, as always, had an incredible day at the Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday 31st August. This year, we had three boats, cheered on by family and friends from the water’s edge, paddling their way towards victory.

Our amazing fleet this year included:

Integra Wildcats, captained by Szen Ong, participating for their third year.

CCCT Beach Babes, captained by Bobby Beech, making a fifth appearance, and showing off their fun costumes!

Accounting for Speed, captained by Katrina Wells, a first-time crew from our annual supporters, McBrides Accountants.

While none of our teams made it to the final this year, they all put in incredible performances and smashed their fundraising targets, raising an outstanding £8,000! We are immensely proud of each one of them.

We are already counting down to next year’s event! Who is with us? Get in touch to find out more…
