Champion challengers set their own goals
We are always proud when amazing people do incredible things for our cause! A fantastic example of this is Jerry Stockbridge and Lewis Healy, who cycled 100k around Kent back in May. They were introduced to our charity through the Brands Hatch Charity Day. However, when the event was cancelled, they decided to create their own charity challenge instead—coinciding with Jerry’s 55th birthday!
Jerry and Lewis completed their challenging ride and raised over £600 for Chartwell. We are extremely grateful for their support and for finding a way to contribute in their own special way.
Another inspiring example is Peter Debenham, who also signed up for the Brands Hatch event to kick start his own personal challenge of ‘500km of Summer’. When the event was cancelled, Peter carried on with a combination of treadmill runs, park sessions, and even a run from London Victoria to Bromley! His challenge started on 27th May and concluded on 30th August, testing his endurance through a few hurdles along the way.
Peter, who began as a newcomer to fitness and healthy living, turned his lifestyle around with his commitment. He raised over £1,300 in the process—a truly fantastic achievement!
We extend our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to Jerry, Lewis, and Peter for successfully completing their challenges and making a difference for Chartwell.
We’d also like to thank Rebecca Earl and Keira Hampsheir, who participated in the Vitality London 10,000 on the 22nd of September because they could not attend our Bewl Water event due to other commitments, we really appreciate their support.
