Getting to treatment is half the battle

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, life changes overnight. For families like Harrison and his mum Victoria, the journey doesn’t just happen inside the hospital – it is the struggle of getting there, again and again.

After Harrison’s diagnosis, every hospital visit became a challenge. With public transport unsafe and mobility limited, simply reaching care could be stressful, costly, and at times overwhelming.

Victoria was able to access funded taxi journeys through The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust  – ensuring Harrison could get the treatment he needed to timely and safely.

In 2025, we provided over £12,500 in transport support to help families access life-saving care.
