Local hero takes on Everest-sized cycling challenge for cancer support

Biggin Hill’s own Paul Clark is gearing up for an epic endurance feat—cycling the equivalent of Mount Everest’s height to raise funds for Chartwell!

On 21st June, Paul will take on the challenge of a lifetime (for the second time!), conquering Stock Hill, Biggin Hill’s steepest climb, at least 240 times in 24 hours. That is a staggering 50 metres of vertical ascent per lap, adding up to a total climb of over 12,000 metres. Higher than the summit of Mount Everest!

Paul’s adventure kicks off at 9am, cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd of supporters and volunteers, who will be out in force collecting donations and keeping his spirits high. The community is invited to come along, cheer him on, and keep him pedalling as he pushes through the day and night.

Determined as ever, Paul will not be stopping even if he reaches his goal and will keep going until the clock runs out!

The funds he raises will go towards the construction of a much-needed Cancer Information Centre at the Chartwell Unit in The Princess Royal University Hospital, providing essential support for cancer patients and their families.

With just a few months to go, Paul is deep in training, and we wish him the best of luck!
