Superhero Bonnie’s 100-mile walk challenge

Between 2nd March and 7th July, Bonnie Lysandrou, along with her daddy and her sister Brook took on the challenge to walk 100 miles in memory of Orlagh Keane, who Bonnie met (and loved) when they were both receiving treatment on Tiger Ward’s paediatric shared oncology unit. In addition, to mark the day when Bonnie was first diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphocytic Leukaemia) on 2nd March until her last day of treatment on 7th July.

No strangers to fundraising for The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust, having raised £14,000 for the Tiger Ward in 2019, the Lysandro family wanted to pick up their fundraising campaign again, put on hold due to Covid. From when they began in March, they kept us up to date on their challenge, which included several walks around their home and in the garden!

We are delighted that they successfully completed their challenge on the 7th July and raised a fantastic £4,000! Bonnie also rang the “the end of treatment bell” on Tiger Ward, a truly wonderful way to celebrate.

Congratulations and thank you so much for your continued support.
