Remembering the late David Tindall – 6th October 1936 to 26th September 2024
In 2014, we were privileged to meet, David Tindall, a valued member of The Kentones, Bromley Barbershop Harmony Club. David played an important role in connecting The Chartwell Cancer Trust with The Kentones. His wife, Pamela (Pam), was a dedicated supporter of the group and received treatment at the Chartwell Unit until her sad passing. Pam always attended the countless performances until the end of her journey.
Due to the high standard of care Pam received in the Chartwell Unit, David nominated The Chartwell Cancer Trust as the Kentones’ chosen charity for the year 2014-2015. We were thrilled to be selected after meeting the members. We were also thrilled to receive a generous cheque from The Kentones in Pam’s memory.
For nearly 50 years, The Kentones have delighted audiences in Bromley with their rich barbershop harmonies, performing a diverse repertoire that includes timeless classics and innovative new works. Their passion for entertaining often moved listeners, and David was a dedicated and long-serving member of the chorus.
After a successful year of support, David reached out to inform us that The Kentones would extend their commitment for another year, continuing to collect donations during their numerous performances, including the prestigious Leeds Castle Classical Concert. Their talent was so exceptional that they were invited back to perform on the main stage alongside world-renowned acts, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Even after their official support concluded, The Kentones remained committed to our cause, hosting additional performances to raise funds, including Christmas concerts and more.
None of this would have been possible without David’s introduction to The Kentones, whose efforts generated significant funds for our mission. The impact of their contributions has made a profound difference in the lives of cancer patients within our local communities. David Tindall will be fondly remembered by everyone from The Chartwell Cancer Trust for his kindness, dedication, and unwavering support for those in need.
A dedicated tribute donation page has been set up in David’s memory which can be found HERE
