Lily-Mae 10th Anniversary Memorial Bike Ride 2024

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Lily-Mae Annual Charity Memorial Bike Ride 2024.

On Bank Holiday Monday 27th May, organised by Lily-Mae’s uncle, Kevin Kingshott, he and his intrepid cycling team set off once again, cross country, along the coastal ridges of the South Downs. This year, accompanied by first time younger cyclists, Lily-Mae’s cousins, Archie and Maxell, Kevin’s sons, and Archie’s friend.

To honour the bike ride’s 10th anniversary, a minute’s silence was observed to remember Lily-Mae and also Archie’s school friend who sadly passed away this year.

The 28-mile challenge took its usual route traversing the ridges of the South Downs but this time with a twist! After reaching the twin radio masts at Fride Beacon, one enthusiastic participant suggested tackling Mount Caburn, one of the highest hills in the area! This was successfully conquered but the general conscensus was “been there, done it, never again!”

A wonderful £900 was raised and a well-earned beer (for the oldies) at the finish line!

Well done and thank you to Kevin and everyone who took part, and for your continued support.
