Guiding others through cancer recovery with heart and experience

Joanna Castle, a supporter of The Chartwell Charities since 2017, knows first-hand the rollercoaster ride of emotions, the fear, the frustrations, and the burning desire to reclaim life after cancer.

Joanna was diagnosed with breast cancer 8 years ago which she described as one of the darkest moments of her life.  Having got through the gruelling treatment, Joanna is making a real difference to others facing the same pains and fears.

When Joanna was diagnosed in 2015, she wanted to learn how she could better support herself during treatment in order to relieve the side effects and to encourage her healing.  Determined to make a difference, she decided to study with the College of Naturopathic Medicine, qualifying as a Women’s Health Coach in 2022.

During her studies and treatment, Joanna also took on a series of challenges, with her partner, Adam.  They ran in the Chartwell’s 10k Run in 2017 and 2019, and also entered the Tough Mudder London North in 2018, to raise funds for the Chartwell Cancer Unit in The PRUH, where she was treated.  Her father-in-law, Gary Castle, also organised a fantastic charity Jazz and Swing Concert on the 2nd March 2019, at the Stag Plaza in Sevenoaks, in Joanna’s honour.

“It’s a deeply personal connection that fuels my determination to make a difference.”

A Holistic Approach

Driven by a deep passion to help others, Joanna’s mission is to support clients who struggle with trusting their bodies, after having cancer treatment.  She does this by helping them take control of their health to help reduce the risk of recurrence as well as re-gain self-confidence. She also offers a shoulder to lean on, a listening ear, and a heart overflowing with empathy.

Joanna takes a holistic approach in her coaching by looking at the bigger picture, working on nutrition, stress management, exercise and sleep.  She guides her clients towards nourishing their bodies and examines their individual needs by creating unique nutrition plans focusing on balanced meals rich in whole foods, a vital compass on the road to recovery.

Joanna also offers practical tools, gentle encouragement, accurate and up-to-date knowledge and the wisdom gained from her own health experiences.

“It is an honour to walk alongside my clients, witnessing their incredible strength and to be able to guide them towards a future filled with renewed hope, vitality and the unwavering belief that they can reclaim their lives beyond cancer.”
