THE CHARTWELL CHARITIES NEWS

A Christmas message from founder, senior trustee, Michael Douglas

As we approach the end of another busy year, we are proud to share news of our activities over the past 12 months. We continued to fund critical roles in the Princess Royal University Hospital, including a Health Care Assistant and a Consultant Oncologist in the Chartwell Unit. We have also continued to support patients with severe financial hardship due to a cancer or leukaemia diagnosis.

We remain committed to continuing to support additional staff as we have done for the last 20 years.

The King’s College Hospital Management team contacted us recently and explained that Bromley, one of London’s largest boroughs, does not have a Cancer Information Centre, and a suitable area within the Chartwell Unit has been identified. We have agreed to fund the construction, which will offer vital support for patients, especially those facing financial difficulties.

Our ongoing support for paediatric oncology families includes AV1 robots to keep children engaged in school, holiday getaways, taxi support for neutropenic children, and resources like the widely used Oncology Guide App, and much, much more.

We could not do any of this without you and we are all so grateful for your ongoing support.

The entire team extends its deepest gratitude and warmest wishes for a joyful Christmas season.
