Chartwell Childhood Cancer Support Group hosts a memorable Summer party for oncology families

The Chartwell Childhood Cancer Support Group continues to offer a vital lifeline to children with cancer, their siblings, and parents, providing regular meetups in safe, supportive environments. These gatherings create a much-needed network of care during an incredibly challenging time for families.

This August, the group held its annual summer party for oncology families from the Tiger Ward at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The event, hosted at the Meridian Charlton Sports & Social Club in Charlton, brought together families, medical staff, and Gill Mariner, the Childhood Cancer Support Group Coordinator at CCCT, for a heartwarming afternoon under the sun.

With bouncy castles, lively entertainment, and a variety of treats and refreshments, the day was filled with joy and laughter. Families had the chance to relax, connect with others going through similar experiences, and simply enjoy the day together. The event was a resounding success, leaving everyone with cherished memories and a sense of community.
