THE CHARTWELL CHARITIES NEWS

A marathon month for Chartwell

April was an extremely busy and fantastic month as we had some wonderful super heroes taking part in various marathons and half marathons.

WELL DONE TO OUR HALF MARATHON ACHIEVERS!
First, the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday the 2nd April, saw our brilliant team join 16,000 runners cover a 13 mile race around the heart of London. It was a great atmosphere with the crowds cheering and clapping all the way round. They all successfully made it across the finish line.

HIP HIP HOORAY!
Well done to Ruth Symes for completing the Brighton and Hove Marathon on the 18th April. Ruth, running in memory of her dad, Robert, chose to run for us. Ruth did so well, especially when, on reaching 10 miles, she had to carry on with a painful hip. Ruth thankfully pushed through the pain and made it to the end. Thank you so much Ruth, you are amazing!

A ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO TEAM LONDON MARATHON!
The Chartwell Charities sadly does not have charity places at this event and it is always so inspiring when successful marathon ballot winners get in touch to let us know they will be running for us. This year, we had the most runners ever taking part – five truly amazing people who were supported by their family and friends all around the route.

Thank you to each and every one of you for your amazing support, your achievements and fundraising are so inspiring, and we cannot thank you enough!
