THE CHARTWELL CHARITIES NEWS

Over 10,000 people sign petition in just 36 hours to save Chartwell In-Patient Cancer Unit

More than 10,000 people have signed our petition in just 36 hours calling on NHS leaders to safeguard the future of the Chartwell In-Patient Unit at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH).

The petition, reflects the outpouring of public concern following news that the specialist in-patient oncology ward may face closure.

The unit is a vital lifeline for cancer patients across Bromley and the wider South- East London area, offering essential treatment, care, and support close to home.

Michael Douglas, Trustee of The Chartwell Cancer Trust, said:

“The response has been overwhelming. To reach 10,000 signatures in such a short time shows how deeply valued the Chartwell In-Patient Unit is by patients, families, and our community. We urge NHS decision-makers to listen to this message loud and clear – this service is indispensable and must be protected.”

The Chartwell Cancer Trust is continuing to encourage supporters to add their names and share the petition widely, to demonstrate to healthcare leaders the importance of retaining specialist cancer care at the PRUH.
