On Saturday 22nd June, London Biggin Hill Airport hosted their 2nd Annual Sunrise Runway Challenge. The Saturday morning event – held in association with Biggin Runways Running Club – saw more than 200 participants gather at 5.30am to complete either a five-kilometre run, or a 15km cycle route on the airport’s runway and taxiway.

Colin Hitchins, Community Engagement Manager, London Biggin Hill Airport, said: “We are delighted to have brought the Sunrise Runway Challenge back to London Biggin Hill Airport for 2019 and see a large number of runners and cyclists taking part.

“After the success of our inaugural event last summer, we are also proud once again to support The Chartwell Cancer Trust who help patients across London and the South East.

“The local community are crucial to the success of our airport and it’s great to see them combine fitness and fundraising for this event. As London Biggin Hill Airport continues to thrive, it’s important that we give back, both through events like this and through the career opportunities that we are committed to developing for young people in aviation.”

Thank you to London Biggin Hill Airport for your continued support. The Sunrise Runway Challenge raised more than £3,000.
