“IKEA, Kate Moss and Croydon University Hospital – these are the three most important things in Croydon” Nish Kumar
Croydon-born and bred, TV personality Nish Kumar is on a mission to transform cancer care facilities for Croydon’s young people by throwing his support behind The Lily Pad Appeal raising £750,000 to create a state-of-the-art Children’s Cancer Unit at Croydon University Hospital.
As a celebrated stand-up comic and broadcaster increasingly in the spotlight, Nish recently took time out of his busy TV and touring schedule to collaborate with brave young cancer survivor Melissa to spread the word through a series of moving campaign videos driven by their shared commitment to the borough they both love and call home.
“I’m getting behind this appeal because Croydon University Hospital is a really important part of people lives in Croydon and I believe that we should do everything we can to support it’ explained Nish.
Melissa was a natural in the interviewer’s chair and got the low-down from Nish on everything from growing up in Croydon, his misspent youth, to getting him to spill the beans on ‘The Best Ever joke in the history of Western Civilisation’ (mmm.. we are not so sure..).
