On Wednesday 10th of April, St. James’s Place Wealth Management were delighted to welcome The Chartwell Cancer Trust’s, Michelle Simpson, to their area meeting at Lingfield Park Racecourse. Senior Partner and representative of the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation, Alison Wright, reported on the meeting event’s…

“I met Michelle Simpson about 12 months ago and we were delighted to award The Chartwell Cancer Trust with a grant of £2,500 to treat 160 families to a well-deserved trip to the pantomime at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre.

“Since then, Michelle and I have kept in touch to see if we can continue to collaborate in any way. I invited Michelle to attend our area meeting on Wednesday the 10th of April to talk about the work of The Chartwell Cancer Trust. Approximately 180 of my colleagues attended which included an update to St. James’s Place Wealth Management Partners and staff on the work of the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation. Currently, around 85% of my colleagues donate regularly to the Foundation by way of covenant gifting, so it was a great opportunity for them to learn how their generosity helps one of the numerous good causes that our Charitable Foundation supports.

“Michelle gave a detailed and engaging account of the role of the AV1 No Isolation Robot and how it assists children battling with cancer to maintain contact with their friends in the classroom and allows them to continue their studies even if they are too physically ill to attend school. She impressed on us all how valuable that was in terms of maintaining contact with their peers and keeping up with school work as far as possible. Michelle also chatted to my colleagues and demonstrated the Robot during the coffee break. Without exception, they were very impressed with this amazing technology.

“Attendees were invited to pledge some money that morning. They were in no doubt how much of an impact this would make to the recipient and to the charity. Collectively, we raised the sum of £2,660 towards the cost of one Robot. Having speakers such as Michelle at our meetings really does help to gain the support of my colleagues and highlights the work of the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation, which supports a large number of charities both in the UK and overseas, including The Chartwell Cancer Trust.

“I look forward to many more successful collaborations with The Chartwell Cancer Trust in the future.”
