Earlier this month Orpington law firm, Clarkson Wright & Jakes, announced they have chosen The Chartwell Cancer Trust as their Charity of the Year for 2018/19.
CWJ is a fifth generation family law firm, which although originally based in Lincoln’s Inn at the heart of London’s legal quarter, has always had its soul in the leafy Kent suburbs around Orpington. So it was no surprise that the firm permanently relocated here in 1951.
With commercial clients ranging in size from sole traders to large public companies and other institutions such as schools, charities and medical practices; it has accumulated extensive experience of the legal issues faced by businesses and other organisations.
If you are facing any issue with legal implications, it is essential that you get the best help and legal advice, no matter what it concerns. In all cases, having the right lawyers on your side can make all the difference to the outcome. The solicitors at CWJ will analyse your particular circumstances and give sound judgements based on their specialist knowledge and experience.
Excellence in client care CWJ is a member of LawNet, a nationwide network of around 70 firms who are recognised for their commitment to rigorous standards of quality and best practices. CWJ’s commitment to client service was recognised last year when we were awarded the LawNet Excellence in Client Care award for 2017/18.
Contributing to the community CWJ’s aim is to make a positive difference to the local community in which we live and work. As you would expect from a firm with our history, we are involved in a range of community activities, however, three years ago we decided to support one main cause a year and embarked on a Charity of the Year programme. Over the last two years we have helped The Maypole Project and Foal Farm Animal Rescue.
Christmas shopping evening We’re delighted to be supporting The CCT this year and will be arranging events to raise money for the charity. On Wednesday 21st November we are hosting a Christmas shopping evening at CWJ’s office in Orpington from 5.30pm to 8pm. We have a fabulous collection of stalls selling ideal Christmas gifts including: handbags and scarves, hampers, handmade crafts, jewellery, local produce and clothes. It will be the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends, support local business and The CCT and pick up those unique Christmas presents. Please do join us for what is set to be a fun evening. £2 entrance fee. All visitors receive a free glass of prosecco on arrival!.
