It is with profound sorrow that we share the tragic news of the passing of Mr Prakash Sinha, Consultant surgeon and Medical Director for the Princess Royal University Hospital and long-standing supporter of The Chartwell Cancer Trust. We are all shocked and deeply saddened to learn of his recent and untimely death.

We would like to join the chorus of voices paying tribute to this gifted and dedicated man. The outpouring of sympathies is testament to the exceptionally high-regard in which he was held.

We consider ourselves very fortunate to have been able to count Prakash as one of our most dynamic and unwavering supporters. Together we have achieved great things for the PRUH including investment in cutting-edge breast cancer scanners and state-of-the-art equipment to create virtual cancer clinics at the hospital.

Prakash had a passion for trekking which, in 2015, inspired him to climb both Snowdonia and the Stok Kangri Range of the Himalayas in support of The Chartwell Unit at the PRUH. He also personally hosted numerous lively social events bringing together friends and colleagues to raise funds for our causes.

As a vigorous advocate of our charity, he was a regular honorary guest and speaker at our galas, supporter events and House of Commons dinners championing all the work we do with characteristic energy and spirit.

We feel immense gratitude for the contribution Prakash has made to our charity as we have grown over the years. We will miss him hugely and mourn his loss whilst also celebrating the incredible legacy he leaves behind.

We are deeply honoured that, at the request of his family, donations in loving memory of Prakash will be dedicated to our charity and the work we do for cancer care.  If you would like to make a donation to The Chartwell Cancer Trust, you can do via the following link:

Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and all those whose lives he touched.
